My grandson received this as a gift. Like most 2-yr-olds, he’s in constant motion and rarely spends more than two minutes in the same space. When we opened this book, though, he was immediately drawn in and sat quietly as we went through every page. And when we finished, he took the book himself and leafed through the pages again. This book is absolutely adorable! It is very well written, creatively using rhymes, with a positive theme. This is a perfect bedtime story to read to younger children, or for learners to read aloud. The illustrations are bright and vibrant…love the facial expressions of the porcupines! I can’t wait to enjoy the other books in this series!

When I was young, I had books that I read over and over again because I found something new every time, and they still are vivid in my memory. This is one of those. It’s funny, silly, clever and beautifully illustrated. The characters are hilarious! Although it’s not “in-your-face,” or preachy there is a theme of collaborative problem solving. I’m buying several for everyone I know with kids. I’m guessing it’s a series since this is volume 3. I want the rest of them!
